h.264 from premiere

I need to create an h.264 from my video. I am on a PC and using Premiere Pro. I always seem to get a gamma shift when exporting anything quicktime out of windows (the video gets brighter). I've seen on the internet this is a known issue. Some people are using x264 codec but I haven't been able to successfully download and install x264 so that it shows up in my codec options in premiere.

Anyone know of a fix for the gamma shift? I'd love to have h.264 as an option.

Don't use mov or quicktime and there will be no gamma shift . e.g. You can use h.264 in .mp4 container

You need the vfw version of x264 for it to appear in premiere
http://sourceforge.net/projects/x264vfw/
or

Another option: some people prefer exporting out uncompressed or lossless first, then using the CLI version or a GUI for it e.g. megui, ripbot, xvid4psp, handbrake etc....

The Mainconcept exporter out of Premiere Pro for h.264 is pretty good. You won't have to change your workflow, and you won't have gamma shift.
