how do you use H.264 encoding with Premiere Pro or After Effects? It's an option to encode it when I export, but the footage always looks like crap. It's really washed out. Nothing like what's on display at the Quicktime website. How do you get a plugin that lets you customize your H.264 output?

Under the video tab see what the image quality settings are. I've used this encoder several times after hearing about through the Zombie contest and have had nothing but great results with it.
I'm not an expert but it sounds like your image settings could be set to low image quality.
