I'm trying to export a short movie I made in premiere using the H.264 codec in Adobe Media Encoder. The actual encoding process is working fine, however it is producing file sizes that seem too large. I tried exporting a 2:47 video at 24fps, 720x480, 1000 kbps and it was over 200 MB using the h.264 codec. I figured that it was just that large because of the settings I picked, so I tried 15fps, 160x120 and 100 kbps and it came out to be 26.9 MB.
The file quality also seemed very poor when I used the higher quality settings, which seems very contrary to what i've heard everyone say about h.264
Am I doing something wrong, or are the file sizes as big as they are supposed to be?
any help would be greatly appreciated
thanks,
vivi
