Are you trying to use the gyro as a stabilizer? Your not really giving too much information towards your thoughts!

but how do you intend take whatever mechanism is hidden inside the bicycle wheels and attach it to a camera and make it spin correctly as a gyroscope must?

Cool find.
I wonder what the price will be for an item that becomes obsolete after a few hours of use

If it´s in the neighborhood of 100 bucks I´m in for two.

A gyro is simply a heavy flywheel attached to a motor. Theres not much else too it, just like a gyroscope spinning will allow it to ballence on its tip like they do, the spinning flywheel produces enough force to stabilise a camera.

The key here is to make sure the flywheel is balanced. They spin fast, and if it is even a tiny bit unballenced it will have the opposite effect and vibrate.

The best way of doing this is to just machine it. Its expensive, but find a freindly guy with a lathe, and its not too difficult to do. If it is turned on a lathe, then you know its ballanced and wont shake itself apart.

Have a look at model aeroplane motors, they spin fast and smooth.
