guns sounds

can anybody tell me, where i can find a great pack of sounds of guns to use on a clip of a swat team?

If you go to "sound dogs" you can hear FX from a number of weapons libraries. Sonic Boom has a very nice gun set.

my experience with Sounddogs concerning gun sounds is that their library contains only real gun sounds; and "movie guns" do not sound like real guns.

You are right and wrong on that. Movie gun sounds are probably 99% "real". But they don't sound like the guns that are on the screen. The "Hollywood sound" is the result of layers, often lots of layers. Judge Dred had over 100 tracks of weapons. So that "real" 45 that gets shot also has sweeteners layered under and over it. Most of those sweeteners are also "real" they are just not the gun your looking at. Depending on many many factors you might have anything from a riffle to a howitzer adding punch. If your doing an over the top "Hong Kong Action" kind of film all kinds of stuff may be going on.
Now any film with a good budget will also probably record some new gunshots that are specific to the film. Those will usually be the exact same model seen on the screen. If they are not recording new then most of the shots will probably start out from one of the collections that Sound Dogs carries or from a personal collection.
But the key to the sound you hear is layers more than anything else.

On another board this came up. Sort of dwarfs my Judge Dred numbers.

...
For example, I know that 'Flags of Our Fathers' had more than 1300 individual PB tracks for just the FX. (excluding BG's and Foley).

Hope this helps,

My experience with free sound effects sites is that it is often hit and miss. There is some good stuff, but there is a lot more crap. Gun sounds might be especially hard to find on those sites because good gun recording requires a lot of time, energy and money, so the recordists most likely are going to just give away their work. Download pay sites like Sounddogs might be your best bet besides buying a gun library.
