Gun Flash effects in Vegas

[bigox]

Has anyone ever messed around with adding "gun flash" effects in Vegas pro 8?

To be more specific, showing someone "pretend" to be shooting a gun and then afterwards in Vegas you add the sound effect(easy) and then you add a bit of a flare/flash coming out of the guns barrel.....the flare/flash effect is where I really don't know where to start.

Anyone ever do this before? Any hints? Suggestions? Tips? etc etc? I've searched around the forum for posts on this but couldn't find any.

it's relatively easy to composite in a gunflash Have a look at http://www.detonationfilms.com/missionstatement.htm, they have some free sample stuff and even some tutorials on doing the compositing
