Gummo

[Hairy Lime]

I'm a pretty strong advocate of film as art and allowing the filmmaker a lot of leeway in the exploration of their art. Very rarely have I come across a film that simply defies my artistic sensibilities to such an extreme that I'd label it pornographic.

Gummo is one of those films.

"Gummo" is like roadkill: it's disgusting, but you can't look away. I really wanted to like it. But it just went on and on. The infamous scene where the kids "kill" Bunny Boy is interesting though. My friends and I quote that scene sometimes.
