So I just finnished cleanig my most used rig, blowing out the fans, adding a stick of ram and installing a sound card from another rig that doesn't get used much to rid my life of "Sound Max" the low card in the Asus deck. During the cleaning, I noted that the power supply fan was not spinning when compressed air was directed at the blades. I put the system back together and returned it into the system only to find the rig unable to power up. Sure enough the power supply had rendered itself as usefull as a 70's TV remote clicker. So I go to the drugstore around the corner to pick up a new one (kinda weird I know, but I needed some asprin too!) Now when I think of power supplies I'm thinking 40 to 50 bucks tops! But there on the shelf sits a 430 watt PS clearly marked $119.00. So I'm bitchin like mad in my head about WTF the world is coming to charging this much for some low priority device like a freaking power supply...But it's Sunday, and I'm not waiting for my computer store to open up the following day for a cheap one so I bite the bullet and buy the thing. I get it home and pry it out of the box and BAM! Right between the eyes, I'm hit with QUALITY! This power supply is forged with love, care and all the engineering know how one could find in the free world. Now I'm thinking what a shame it is to put it in this old rig...It deserves a quadruple core pentium 9 fiber optic dazzle box! So I'm reviewing my way of viewing the world and realize that if I needed a new heart, I'd be the guy who said "Ten thousand bucks for a new ticker! Screw that, give me that old dead rubbies heart for fifty bucks and cos it smell like Jack Daniels I want a discount!...On top of my DVXuser discount!!" I was guilty all this time of cheapskating on the most vital part of my systems...Never again Antec rules!
