Guilty Pleasures

Here's a topic I hope you find interesting: are there any movies you really like, but that you are reluctant to admit it?

I can think of a couple. "The Transporter" is one that my girlfriend simply can't understand why I like it so much. It is probably one of the most trotted-out movies I pick to watch when I'm bored.

Another one, which frankly is one of my favorites, is "Legally Blonde". Try dropping THAT movie title on your drunken buddies at the hockey game, with only 2 minutes to go in the second period.

Anyone else?

Chocolat

...yeah it's kind of a chick flick, but I liked the behind the scenes or the way it was filmed or something...I remember it being good...

Big Trouble in Little China.

Really, no one should have guilt over loving this film. Hands down, it's solid entertainment and was way ahead of its time.

Heathen!

People always find it odd that I like the Luhrman's Romeo + Juliet. I think it's great.

16 Candles.

I don't no why, I just do <prepares for violent ridicule>

No one that knows me would believe that.

Re: Guilty Pleasures

Karate Kid will always be one of my favorite guilty pleasure movie.

I was 17 when it came out and I actually bought clothes trying to dress like Daniel.

That is one of the coolest things I have ever heard.

The Poseidian Adventure. Every time it is on TV I have to watch it. Shelly Winters having a heart attack after swiming to rescue Gene Hackman bring a littlel tear to my eye every time.

Big Trouble in Little China is not a guilty pleasure for me I take unshamed joy and pleasure in watching that one! Besides its all in the reflexes.

Though it's really basic and unspectacular, I really enjoy watching the Joel Schumacher movie 'Falling Down' with Michael Douglas.

Something about it's simplicity I like, I guess - one of those movies you think: I liked that! And I could make that! :)

Re: Guilty Pleasures

Well, I will have to go with Rock Star. :-[ Just the whole feel of that movie took me back to my highschool days, the music especially. But the theme of the little guy becoming his own dream was pretty cool.

The soundtrack stays in my car. ;D
