I've been on hiatus for a month - and now that I am back, decided to get the ball rolling. I checked e-bay, did the google search and called about a dozend of the "discount" places to try to order a DVX100A - one place said to call back in about 6 weeks. another place (somenone named "Keisha") started yelling at me about all the questions I was asking - this was after question#1 (price and availability) - what about the warranty? One place sold the camera alone for 2599 and wanted another 395 for the "KIT" (that is all the items that come with the standard package), another place wanted to give free shipping, but you have to wait until THEY collect the rebate, or you pay an extra 99. Unbelieveable. I thought used car dealees are bad, but these jamokes are unbelieveable. I even went to the Panasonic site, no direct sales with this company, and put in my zip code for the local delares - nearest one 45 miles away - and hey - the number is "DISCONNECTED", the next nearest ones, in Philly or (God help me) New Jersey.
So..... is EVS still the hotbed of purchasing activity - is there a better deal around?
All that I wanted, before purchase, was to hold one in my hand just to see it - but even that is not possible - and yes, I tired in Florida too. All I want is the complete kit as described in the PDF that I downloaded from Panasonic (printed on nice colored paper and drooled over for the last two months) get a good deal and have somebody taking care of me should there be a warranty issue.
Somebody help me please. I thought the work ahead was going to require effort, certainly not the purchasing of equipment when I am paying.
I appreciate any responses that can offer some guidance.
Thanks in advance.
