Do it. Easiest instrument to pick up.

Definitely more manageable than this to carry around with you.

I've played guitar for about 15 years. How much of an adjustment would it be?

Most common tuning is G-C-E-A. Chord shapes are really easy to learn, as there are only four strings. C major requires only one string to be pressed down.

The ukulele is pretty hard to "shred" on... so it depends what sort of guitar-playing you've done I think (acoustic would transition easily, guitar-solo style electric harder). I got a $40 uke a little over a year ago, and just recently got a $150 one. My $40 one is small enough to take anywhere so I usually do.

A soprano ukuelele has tiny frets and can take some getting used to if you have big fingers. My new one is a tenor which is much easier. I'd recommend a ukulele to anybody just because of the portability. You'll probably find yourself playing it more than any other instrument just for this reason.
