I ordered a setup from Greg Tay. Once it arrives I'll do a full review of its performance.

He seems to be a really informative guy that makes quality parts.

I should be receiving in about half a month so will update when I receive!

Hi Dave, looking forward to your review. I have not been on this forum for a very long time already and it's nice to see my product being mentioned here. Cheers!

I too am anxious to hear this review. Please let us know when you get it. First impressions. Setup. Etc. etc.

Just got the adapter today! Will be posting some quick videos and later pictures of what I received, along with review.

Sturdy construction. I also have a Jag35ST and this one is much more solid in construction.

Yes! I took it right out of the box and shot some tests. Haven't had time to take apart and clean. Its interesting to see how such a large chunk of dust nearly disappear when motor is on.

Yes. Greg offers a package with a LCD monitor included. Its not HD, but its enough to focus with. I like it better than the flip-out LCD. The only issue is power. It comes with a European plug (not sure which part) and car DC adapter. You need a 12V 2amp adapter or battery to power it on the move. Still looking for a solution...

Hrm. So, there was that dirt on the GG out of the box? Okay. I don't know enough about DoF adapters to know if that's normal or not, but I find it odd. I guess it would be easy enough to clean though.

Also, were you shooting handheld or on sticks and just loose?

The adapter looks pretty good though. The edges look pretty sharp to me. I'd love to see you shoot a test pattern on sticks, if possible.

You said it feels sturdier than the Jag35? More put together.

How much was the package? I saw his monitor, but the lack of battery options makes it hard to justify, IMHO. I think you could get one of those energizer battery packs for laptops and stuff, assuming it has the right plug, but that would add another $100 to the cost.

Sorry for all the question... and I don't mean to sound negative. I really like the look of the adapter and THANK YOU SO MUCH for continuing posting your experiences with it. Right now I'm just kinda trying to figure out the best adapter for the buck as I don't have the funds to make the wrong decision, you know.

Shot at 1080i (24PA) on HVX200. 1/250th shutter and 1.8 on Nikon 50mm lens. You can see the dust on the ground glass moving around in bright light. Looks like bugs or something. Still need to grab a can of air to clean it out.

Latest video. Trying some different lenses. I noticed a blur around the edges of the frame. I haven't figured out the best zoom amount yet....

The 50mm lens is definately causing the soft edges same like the cheap Canon 50mm f1.8 that I use. Stop down to 2.8 or 3.5 or 5.6 on your 50mm and you will see improvement.

Nice video of the cat cleaning it's, umm, yeah....

The adaptor looks nice but it is quite dirty, shouldn't it be clean out of the box?

We picked up a GT35pro a number of months ago. Like yourself we have a cheaper 50mm lens that is giving soft edges. We borrowed other more expensive lens, no better, and have yet to figure out how to fix the soft edges. Greg has responded to our direct emails with recommendation but the few we have tried have not done the trick.

We have been busy with other work and shelved the adapter for the past few months. We would love to figure out the trick to making it work with the HVX200. Pretty much all of the test footage I ever find for it is with the HV20. And I cannot tell if that footage is sharp edges to edge - as most of it is so focused on one item (a flower) that everything else is out of focus, or soft. I would like to see piece of footage that is sharp edge to edge.

If anyone knows of a link that show footage from the HVX200 and the GT35pro please let me know.

If I figure anything out I will post here.

Happy Holidays

I quite like the soft edges.

It gives it that top gear look but thats just what i think

honestly looking at the videos posted on the net and for the price, you can't fault it
