Ground Glass Cleaning

What could one use to clean a focusing screen (Nikon D)? On a camera sensor they tell you to use air. Could I use a can of air, or should I just get a little air pump device thing? I know Best Buy has a cleaning kit with an air pump brush thing, but I'm not going to use that unless someone says it's fine. There is a bit of dust on the screen (including a tiny little eyelash-sized hair or fiber. Any suggestions? I'd like to use something either from around the house or that I could get at an electronics or Ritz camera store (my area has no good camera dealers.)

Anyone? I just want to know if a can of air is safe for the gg, I'm very cautious about doing anything to it. I know it's probably an obvious question, but I couldn't find a definite answer via searching the forums.

Use clean compressed air first. If that doesn't work, try this:

We use plain old dish soap under running tap water for our imaging elements if they get smudged etc. The trick is making sure it's wet before you touch it, keeping the water (warm) running, and don't be afraid to rub a bit once you've got the soap on there. Your biggest challenge will be drying it spot-free. We use clean compressed air and keep blowing it off, both sides, until it's perfectly dry. Canned air will work too...just not as well as a constant supply of filtered/dryed compressed air.

Sorry I didn't get back to this thread sooner, but thanks for the answer! So it wouldn't ruin my ground glass just to take it out and put it under water? I'll just go for that then as right now there are some weird spots on it and it's either clean it with water, or trash it. Compressed air didn't work.
