Groomsmen Gifts?

I got exactly 21 days to figure something out.

Any suggestions other than the standard fare of flasks, money clips, and beer mugs?

All of mine happened to be techies so I got them stuff made from recycled circuit boards. Funny, but something you can actually use.

Is there a common interest or bond amongst the group? Or maybe take them all skydiving or something. Would be expensive, but I guarantee they wouldnt forget it. Or the Petty Driving Experience. Looking at that its a tad pricey though...

I used a Coach wallet my friend gave me for his wedding for about 10 years. Not a terrible gift actually!

I got some fancy pants razor last weekend when I was a groomsman. I didn't even know I was going to get a gift. It's something I never would have bought myself, but now I'm glad I have it.

So if I ever do this, I would think along those lines. Think about each one and come up with something simple, yet special to them.

But honestly, a flask would have been awesome.

If I had to do it over again, I would get them each something that related to a shared experience. I had known all the guys in my wedding party at least 10-15 years, so there was a lot of whisky under the bridge. If you can think of something (aside from maybe a night in a Tijuana jail cell) that you shared with each of them, and give them a token that represents that, it should show them that you picked each of them to stand up with you for reason, not just because you felt like you had to.

But, I just watched Brokeback Mountain last night, so don't trust anything I say.

Graphics cards. Except for the two who wouldn't care; one got a history of the Rolling Stones and the other one of those mirrored chess-type games.

Gold cuff links with their initials. I know two of them use them from time to time, but I know all remember where and why they got them.

So you arent a girl?

For me I got my groomsmen flasks, and then had three bottle of single malt scotch ready or them to fill it up. We then took shots all day long :-).

It went over really well, they loved them.

the most unusual gift i ever got was personalized baseball bat. but i think some of his relatives may have ties to the mob, so that could explain it.

It's been a little while but with 10 days until the big day I gave in and got everyone a personalized leather wrapped steel flask, name engraved and all.

THEN while I was looking for something additional for my best man (brother) I found those brew your own beer kits... I bought all my groomsmen one of those each also.

So for a groom who doesn't drink at all, I spent a lot of money on drinking related items... 10 days and counting until the big event...

congrats man. you'll be anxious, but it will go by fast. if i have some advice, it's get someone to prepare a food basket for you for the honeymoon. when you're at the reception you likely won't eat much, but later on in the evening you might get hungry.
