I remembering reading about this a month or so ago...sounds like it's pretty good.

Kai, can you post what type of system you did this on, cpu, ram, ae version, drive set up?

Right now I run a dual G5 with 1.5GB ram and one 7200 drive, so according to gridiron I need more ram and a RAID to really take advantage on this. I would hate to spend the $150 not to get a good jump in performance, especially with MB and look suite...those render times are killing me!
 
I'm running a Quad (4x2.5ghz), 6.5gigs of ram. OSX 10.4.4

AE 6.5 Pro

In production I write to an XRaid via Fibrechannel, but for this test I just wrote to the internal 7200 drive.

I think you'll really notice a difference regardless, because it uses both processors vs just one. Download the demo and check it out before you buy it.
 
I have a computer with HT techonology, and most softwares do not use both processors, but AE does.
 
Yeah, but HT isn't the same as dual proc, plus AE is written for Windows better than Mac, or at least thats the speculation...

I'm gonna to download the demo and see what kind of diff it makes with MB.
 
Yeah pretty crazy eh? I've found it to be great on some stuff, others not a huge improvement, but overall well worth it.
 
the plugin was actually written for v7, so it will probably work even better in the new AE
