In retrospect, I realize I joined this forum a while back...then I got distracted by life and, uh, filmmaking. :D

So, starting over--new here, referred by Young Lee to drop in and say hello.

Hello!

So, therewego. I think I'll poke around a bit.

Jason

Re: Greetings.

Welcome! Always good to get another Northern Californian on the board. :)

Re: Greetings.

Jason, 'Acedia' looks intriguing. Is there an official site for the film? What was it shot with btw?

Thanks

Oh, and welcome aboard.

Re: Greetings.

Shot with the DVX100, of course. ;)

I do have an official site for it; unfortunately, I haven't had the freakin' time to update my website to put it and two other things I've done since then on it. Laff.

We're working on getting it properly rendered--the closest thing to an "official" site right now is here.

Thanks, Quentin.

There's a few things online on my site; another project, Hope, is online here. We won the Festival award for Overall Cinematic Excellence for that one, which was a pretty cool surprise.

I recommend the Windows Media--QT has a tendency to stutter.

Thanks for the welcome, guys.

Re: Greetings.

So, I can safely assume the dvd of Acedia is not available? Any idea when it will be? If there's a waiting list for it, sign me up. Thanks, and good luck!

Re: Greetings.

Welcome Jason. The Acedia thing looks really cool... When can I see it? I just love this
"Acedia, the eighth and most insidious of sins, that the church has stolen--for if it were made available, every knowledgeable finger would rise to point in accusation of the truth: that this exalted, miraculous vessel, charged with the inspiration of life, has become so enamored with the riches of heaven and the hatred of earth that it is now truly indifferent, cold and resigned that life here is nothing even in the living of it, and all will go on with or without it so long as there is time that creeps..." makes me want to know more :)

Heh.

Heh.

Thanks mino. Jeez, guess I'll haveta pick up the pace and get it dig'd into an mpeg...

You guys do know it's a short, right? About 19:30 running time...someone I know would like to see it developed into a longer piece, but that's back-burnered until at least 2007...

Re: Greetings.

Well jason...If you took the time to make it available, I would be a happy camper. :D

Re: Greetings.

Welcome Jason, were neighboors man! Alot of my friends work at KCRA 3 and KOVR13. Anyways welcome. This is a good place to talk to strangers and not get mugged. ;D

Re: Greetings.

Welcome Jason - Where in the Sacramento area are you? I recently moved from Elk Grove to Winters, which is just down the road between Davis and Vacaville. I'm about 30 minutes outside of downtown Sacramento.

Hope to see you around
Larry

Roseville.

Roseville.

Yup, Roseville.

I went from Seattle to NYC to L.A. to Auburn.

I thought I was dead, so I moved to the big city again.

Yee-haw!

Re: Greetings.

Greetings! I like it when people introduce themselves, I think because I never did. It makes the internet world seem like a nicer place.

It is.

It is.

It is a nicer place.

Once you get used to the constant screaming, the transfusions and the fiberglass rods.

That reminds me of a joke.

Man, all fish do is eat other fish... if fish could scream the ocean would be loud as ****. You would put your head under water you would hear "Ouch! Damn it! You got me... I thought I looked like that rock."
