Greenscreen, to build or not to build

O great Mod Gods, please move this thread if its out of place.. I'm looking to get some advice about building up a little green screen in my apartment. I have a space, 12-15 feet wide, 6 feet deep and 10 feet high that I'd like to construct or purchase to make my own greenscreen instead of going out to a studio to use their stuff. What do you suggest I do? Would it be cheaper to buy the $50 green screen paint and some wood and build something from the floor up that can be broken down and moved if needed. I would like to build a ramp at the bottom edges so I can have the option of laying some green material down on the ground so I can do full body work - I really don't have that much experience with greenscreen. Can someone point me to some useful information. I need the full class, lighting techniques, intuitive matte software (mac), the works. Thanks dudes

Whatever you do, don't pay $50/gallon for paint. I've gone to Home Depot and had them mix something matching a greenscreen swatch with regular, cheap latex paint.

My dining room has been greenscreened for months now, much to the dismay of my wife who went to great pains to sponge paint it. What I did was go to Wal Mart and buy some bright green sheets, pinned em up and smoothed em out with an iron. I used it to make the intros to each section of my wedding video demo...I just left it cause it was so much trouble to iron it out (keep in mind, I'm EXTREMELY lazy) and I thought I might use it for some other piddly ****.

There'll probably more than some in SciFest, and you can probably get details in the discussion threads. You're supposed to be watching the films, anyway. ;)
