Green Stripes horizontally

I need urgent help. We tried filming a little bit with a sony vx1000e. While filming the picture was okay but when we rewinded and watched it there was thick green horizontal stripes all over the frame, both on the camera and on the tv we plugged the camera into
 
Dirty heads? Try a head cleaner tape. If that fixes it, then the footage you have shot is probably lost.

A head cleaner tape can be bought easily....I thought so.
It's also the simplest and fastest way to solve your problem assuming it's a dirty head. Just remember to follow the instructions.
 
it seems that if we record a little later on the tape it's okay, I might have been something on the tape or something that transfered from the camera, but we'll get a cleaning tape just in case
 
What type of tape was it/what was your record setting? If you were recording LP on a lower quality longer tape, you may just be seeing the effects of having dirty heads with all of the other possible elements that could damage your image also in-line. Once again, I agree that you should use a cleaning tape, and if this makes your image better, than your other footage is probably un-salvagable.
