Green Screen Problem

I shot some footage of a guy in front of a green screen like I've done several times before. Put it in Vegas and keyed out the green. Now this is the first time I've used Vegas to do this because I used to use Premiere. Now I figured that the pixelated look around his head was because it hadn't been rendered yet. However, when I rendered it as a "best quality" AVI, it still looked pixelated around his head. Any suggestions please? Thanks guys,

It is most probably because of NTSC DV's 4:1:1 colour space. This means that the resolution at which the colour is recorded is only 1/4 that of the luma (black and white).

This is a limitation of the format unfortunately, however, there are some work arounds. If you get a chroma (colour) smoothing filter, it should help to smooth out the jagged edge. I am not sure which one's will work in Vegas as I use FCP.

Thanks mmm,
I tried to blur the edges a little and I'm half way satisfied. I'm just glad I don't use a lot of green/blue screen effects of this particular nature. I'll check out what you say though. Thanks again.
