Green Screen Floor Shadows

Hello all,

I'm doing reseach on working with green screen. I've purchased 2 dvds, a book, watched tutorials online, and read countless articles, yet I haven't been able to find what I would consider the bible on green screen. If you know of a fantastic resource for green screen please let me know.

On to the question...

I want to use a green screen floor, so I can change the floor in post, but one of the green screen rules is keeping shadows off of the green screen and keep your talent at least 6-8' away from the green screen. Do I have any options? Any ideas?

Thanks guys, you rock!

i am going to assume you are shooting in a codec and color space that warrants this type of work before stating:
It completely depends on how you are lighting your subject in this case. and what enviroment you are placing the keyed footage into. as long as you keep the soft sources lighting the screen, and talent, as close as possible (think garbage matte if needed) to the situation, your shadow(s) will be close enough in luma to the main green to pull a secondary key from. you can also use a seperate light to fill the shadow area only. its quite easy to skip a backlight from below the talent if needed, which will not affect the greenscreen or shadows at all.
