Okay I just had a brain fart!!!!! I'm putting together a short preview of a short film that I did this year and wanted it too look like a real preview for a feature film with the Green logo that says preview has been approved for audinces etc.... Any thoughts? Thanks
Technically your not supposed to use those without submission to the MPAA. Because you're essentially slapping their brand/rating/opinion onto something they've never seen. If I'm not mistaken it's a trademark violation.
there are also rules to follow for accurately mimicking the use of a Green Band Card in a trailer. For example, it must be shown for exactly 5 seconds with no sound and no fades to or from black, and there must be exactly 1 second of black between the last frame of the green card and the start of the trailer.
I made my own by taking a real one into Photoshop and reverse engineering the correct shade of green (and red for Red Band Cards) and the correct fonts so I could write my own text that essentially said the same thing but did not say it had been approved by the MPAA.
