Green line at base of finished DV AVI

Hi there people, this is my first post, so I thought I would try and solve an annoying problem ive been having for the last two or so years and non of the Adobe support links have worked, they suck!

Anyways, the problem im having is this... After finishing a project in Premiere 6.5, I export to Microsoft DV AVI. After this, the finished file has an annoying green line right at the base of it. Anybody ive talked to cant explain it. Although, one person said something about it being the whole 'produced for TV and not a digital file?' - although I couldnt imagine it would be cos of that!

So when I use TMPEG to convert to mpg for my website - www.trialmedia.co.uk - I get a distinct green line, and its even worse cos of the mpg, it bleeds upwards from the bottom. Ive tried cropping, but it just reduces the quality of the compression!

Please help, this problem has been driving me mad! :(

Jonny.

What is your project setting ( frame size) that you are outputting and from what original material?

I have had a similar problem in FCP. I am not sure exactly what it is, but seems to be something to do there being no data in an area to encode. It has only happened with me when mixing formats (DVCPRO in a DV timeline is one I can remember).

Try adding a black slug (black bar) at the bottom of the picture over where the green area would be. That has worked for me, but it could be a completely different problem... worth a try if you are stuck!

what kind of camera are you using, in my experiences the more consumer cameras wind up with that line on the bottom of the footage, you only notice it when you are looking at a clip off your computer monitor since it doesnt overscan the footage. Once i got my XL2 i havent sen that line since. You might want to try scaling the footage up and cropping it so that its still 720x480 this way the line will get cut off (of course you will loose slight resolution.
