Greatest forum on the net!

I came here to learn about the DVX, and have learned about all aspects of film making. Indepth reviews, side by side comparisons, and more technical breakdowns from Barry than a British cars electrical system!

This is the greatest forum on the web. It also houses some of the most intelligent, well informed, friendly people I have encountered on a message board.

Ok, I'm done stroking now.  ;D

Yes, the Barrys are rockstars!

I can think of a lot things I have improved on since hanging out here..just pure motivation and inspiration is awesome also.

what else? I've probably bought a lot of things I never knew about until I came here, also. next thing you know, I will be wanting a matte box..

Re: Greatest forum on the net!

I come from a Makeup FX background and had always been interested in shooting my own stuff. I never considered DV until I worked on a project using an F900. I stumbled upon the DVX when looking for a more affordable medium and realized this is the type of camera that should be purchased and not rented.

I have been hell bent on getting this camera when I'm ready to shoot something, until the XL2 came out. This would be the only other camera I could possibly consider. I have used a DVX100 a bit and have little complaints understanding it's an affordable MiniDV camera.

I have many unanswered questions about the XL2, and have ruled out the FX1 based on wanting to shoot something that feels more like film. I unfortunately don't know anyone that has an XL2, and no rental places seem to have them in my area yet.

I have spent 6-8 hours a day on this forum at work for the past 2-3 weeks and know this is a common thing posted, but of the countless threads, I still can't decide.

But I appreciate all the experience and knowledge here. I've only seen a couple of rude bastards, but they seem to go away.

I did that for about 6 months straight (or maybe longer)before I started posting regularly. I learned more in that time than I did in the prior 4 years I spent working in video professionally.

Two heads are better then one and in here you can peer into the minds others by watching the videos. One big happy family ;D

Did you check out jarred's side by side comparison video of the xl2 and the dvx. Maybe that'll help you decide. :)

Re: Greatest forum on the net!

It is worth stroking...It's one of the only forums where your welcome wether or not you own a DVX. I was going to buy an XL1 when a co-worker told me to check out the DVX which I did on this board and 2pop. Pannasonic should give a kickback to this place for having a great bunch of DVX'ers swaying people to purchase this great camera. Great camera...great forum, they just naturaly go hand in hand I guess.
