GREAT tool for PC folks in the MAC edit world....

Yeah, I use this all the time. Even if you just use it to access mac volumes and transfer, it works pretty well.

I have used it, and bought it, you don't want to edit directly from that hard drive, copy your files first! I have had it bluescreen a few different editing computers.
 
Well, I've never seen a crash because of it, but it's noticeably slower sometimes.

Other than that, though, it's gold. Bridges the gap between the two platforms quite well.
 
There's also a version specifically for Avid, which makes cutting between Mac and Pc versions of Media Composer pretty seamless. Pretty sweet program.
 
Oooh, thing to beware --

If you're used to working in Windows with external drives, be SURE to remember to manually "eject" the drive from the Mac before trying to use it with the PC -- if you just disconnect it without ejecting, nine times out of ten MacDrive won't let you use it until you go back the Mac, hook it up again, and then eject it. And sometimes, it won't let you use it until you reformat it.
