just in the final stages of my adapter, i have been trying different ground glasses with no luck as the grain was always slightly visible, however i have now found a perfect solution (needs some testing though) i have used 2mm thick glass which i then used armour etching cream on one side to give a frosting effect, so far it seems fine with no visible grain on my 42 samsung TV and light loss comparable to the M2, i will capture some footage today and upload. has anyone out there used this method before, if so have you had any problems with it?

ps i have a cheap achromat at the moment hence the extension tubes (+5 mirami) and my adapter isn't yet attached to my DIY rails

have you tried laminating pouches as this is what I'm trying now on my diy spinning adapter - basically i just cut a cd-size

I'm still waiting for my macro lens to arrive so I don't have test footage yet but just when testing at it spinning it looks good (the more speed the better)- much better than those cd's.

So if you have tried those are they comparable to this new method of yours - or if you haven't tested laminated pouches yet, could you try and tell us the results?

Thanks!

Yes I've tried this one, not bad results, but not great results either. However I was using mine in a vibrating unit. I'm going to test it with my new spinning 50mm OD unit that I'm working on at the moment.

Have you noticed any flicker or open spots when it's at full speed ?

Hi! I wonder how is it going on now with the ground glass and have you tried the laminating pouch on the spinning one? Flicker depends with the laminated pouch on my spinning adapter depends on how well i cut the piece, how well it is attached to the motor and how much the battery has power. The best results i think i get if the motor is spinning like crazy - i tried with 9v battery (but dunno how my old-cd-motor can take it and the noise is unbearable) and the image is quite clear then. The problem with the laminate is that it is not straight so it wobbles a bit.. I am trying to attach one in the middle of 2 clear dummy cds or something to make it stiffy. I ll tell you when i get something done. Probably after this weekend i can send test footage.
