Great opportunity, looking for advice

I will be shooting an interview/documentary tomorrow of one of the musicians who works with a very famous and popular singer that we all love and I'm sure you all know and who's name I rather not list here so that it doesn't pop up in search engines. (I don't have an entertainment lawyer and I don't know about those rules so I rather not go there) :)

Anyway... This musician is home after being on tour for a while and I have been presented with the opportunity to film what ever I want.

So I'm going to record him playing his instrument and talking about him being on tour with such a big artist and of course asking him questions about everything.

I would love to shop this to some networks maybe Bio, Discovery, TLC, or who knows what.

Does anyone have any advice at all on any aspect of this?

I also have access to this person to shoot any further stuff any time. (At least for the mean time since he is back from being on tour) Who knows how soon he may get a call and have to leave the country again.

Also... if there is anyone in the Philadelphia area interested on working on this with me, please feel free to email me any time.

Thanks for any advice anyone can provide.

You are always better off attending pitch fest conventions than cold-calling... but cold-call anyway. It gets expensive flying out to the cities offering pitch pit days and, of course you have to wait on when they have them.
The drag is you are offering them nothing new. They've all seen behind the music and all the shows alike. Dude talks, we see a little music clip, he tells a story about the song... ect. This sounds like something for your reel and good youtube fodder but you'll have to have a fresh concept for a show to catch the attention of any network.
You can submit online to Discovery/TLC and Bio will let you download a submission release form and snail mail it in for consideration.
