I've always thought Edius was much faster to use than Premiere, just not as many bells and whistles. With the CC now turning so many off to Adobe, I wonder if many will see Edius is a good purchase option (as well as Vegas and Final Cut X, cough cough). It's not so popular in the US (used to be Canopus) but Edius has really come a long way.

As a long time user of Adobe, Canopus and also Avid , I know Edius maybe lacking in some areas, but not much, It is not excepted as a industry standard, even frowned a pon by others NLE users , But what it lacks in some parts it makes up in more than many ways in other parts. You am able to do thing faster, more stable Adobe, able to operate with hardware with a lower spec for far longer which makes it far more cost effective and profitable. Edius is a tool like any other NLE its what you make of it. As my preferred NLE I mostly use Edius for all my work.

GV Edius Pro7 is just so much better, you are buy it cheaper, Edius Pro7 is a very viable alternate to Adobe Ppro 6 or CC, At least there are cheaper alternates to Adobe CC for the people feel they do not want or like the it this model.

Wow haven't heard that name in a while. I used a DVRaptor back in the day. Good card but horrible version of Premiere back then. That's when I switched to Vegas 3. Never tried Edius. But honestly only moved back to Premiere from Vegas two years ago. I think I'll stick with Premiere and if I had to change I'd go to FCPX.

What is the best recent hardware support for EDIUS 6.5 or 7 ??? Storm card? Which one?
EDIUS Pro 7 is now open to third-party input and output hardware from Blackmagic Design, with support for Matrox and AJA Video Systems hardware scheduled for Q4 2013. EDIUS Pro 7 also supports EDL project import/export color correction interchange with DaVinci Resolve for a new color grading workflow.

I think there are a few words that coming to mind to make the move to Edius well worth it , for one the interchange with DaVinci Resolve....... and Black Magic, hardware Matrox and AJA plus all the Grass Valley hardware.

Lastly which company gives you a Trial version of there software before it is sold to or released test, I would like to know also?

Maybe it worth you having a look at Edius , the switch over is very eazy http://www.grassvalley.com/products/edius_pro_7 Edius co exists very happy on the same machine with no clashes, I had the same feeling about moving off Avid to Adobe, I also never had heard about Canopus, then I was given a copy via the local agent, I started use-sing more and more, now I hardly use Adobe if I have to. I am still able to launch Photoshop and After Effects in Edius and make DVD and BLray in Edius and I have more than enought 3rd party plugins that come with Edius. At the end of the day it is a tool like any other tool , it is not prefect as with any other NLE. For me since moving to Edius my return on my investment in hardware and software has been worth it.
