Graphite Boom Pole

Seeing as this site has been so helpful to me, I thought I'd return the favor. I was looking online at carbon graphite boom poles and noticed how expensive these are. Working with carbon graphite as I do, I think I could create one for a much lower cost. I would like feedback before making a prototype and someone who would look at a finished good. Post what you look for and I'm sure I can build it.

Re: Graphite Boom Pole

make one , send it to coffey sound , give them to run it for extencive periud that they can tell you what their clyents think about , then make a milions if that sucseed:)
k-tek and ambient are the  proof stuff even it cost to much  , if you making one , make it in vdb style 6 stages , what would bring the closed lenght of the boom as short as possible
there are cavison chip booms that are totally crap becouse their colars , so if you make one , take the ambient as example

Re: Graphite Boom Pole

Oh dude, that's cool.

Lengths should be 6', 12', and 18'. Have uncabled, internally straight cabled, and internally coiled cabled options. On the internally coiled cabled poles, make it with a side connector only. I've never liked bottom connectors. Make your knuckles like the ones on the Ambient poles. Ambient has the best knuckles. If you can make a 12' pole, internally coiled cabled, for under $400, I wouldn't be able to keep them in stock they'd be out of here so fast.

Where are you located? If you are in L.A., you should make a prototype, and bring it by here (coffey sound). We love it when we see people making new product. We could run it through the ringer for you and give you feedback. We could throw it in the rental department. That's where we see which poles hold up and which ones don't.
