Graphics look flat

I made a title for the end of a video in Adobe Illustrator and exported it as a jpeg. On preview it looks exactly how I want it to and it also looks right in FCP and compressor. But when I export it from compressor it looks really flat, kinda washed out and not as sharp. Anyone know what I did wrong?

ahhh in FCP I have the timeline at 29.97, NTSC 3:2 aspect ratio. In compressor I used the H.264 settings and left it all on the default. I am looking at it on my computer screen and the final product is supposed to be up on Vimeo, Youtube and Facebook. Probably the website this video is for too.

I am not sure if it will help in your case, but I think you get better resolution if you bring in a photoshop file to FCP instead of a JPEG. Maybe that will provide a better image when you export.

Do you have to use the H.264 codec for compression?
