Graphics cards for FCP

I'm going to be purchasing a Mac Pro in the next year to edit a feature digital film. I will be using Final Cut Studio on the system, including Soundtrack, Livetype, DVD Studio, and of course FCP. There are a few graphics cards to choose from on the Apple site.

*Nvidia Geforce 7300 GT 256mb (stock)
*Radeon x900 XT 512mb
*up to 4x of the Nvidia card

1) My film isn't going to be heavy on effects at all, so will upgrading from the stock video card show a noticeable difference with speed? I most likely will edit on a single monitor.

2) Does the video card effect the capture quality? (I'll be capturing in 16.9)

I would ask the people at Apple, but alas, there is no email link on the entire site.

Thank you so much, I'm looking forward to exploring these forums!

Get the Radeon X1900

You'll love it. But only Motion really uses the GPU.

Some effects use the Graphics card in FCP... but mostly it's CPU only.

Won't have any effect on the capture quality... at all.

Thank you for your response.

Motion will still run on the 7300 GT though, correct? Albeit it will be slower, but how much so? What about rendering in FCP, does that use the CPU or Video card?

Because I will be on a budget I have one of two choices. Get 1gb of ram and the X1900, or the 7300GT and 2gb of ram. What to do!??!

Thanks!
