Hello everyone,
I'm using Vegas 6 on a HP 2.8 HT desktop, and while editing, I notice a lag in the display vs. sound, mostly when FX are applied. This makes synchronizing sound/image somewhat harder.
Could it be that the graphic card (ATI X300) is too slow? Anybody has any advice on an alternate card which may solve this? Or is there something else?

its not a graphics card related issue. i assume its a pc speed and memory....overall performance factor issue. be sure your not running ANYTHING else while your editing .. in the background or not.. shut it down. id start after that by adding more ram. then upgrading processor. ect.
 
In the meantime, lower your display setting. If you're running it as "best," you'll get more lag than if you're running it at "preview" or "draft." "Draft" mode takes a lot of effects before it starts to drag. The detail isn't as sharp, but if you're testing timing, it doesn't need to be.
