Grainy problems

Been a long time. I'm importing crystal clear sony footage that shows well on the big monitor but on line in fcp 7, it's grainy like too much gain. It's not grain. the playback setting are all the highest they can be and yes, I've rendered it all out and it's still grainy. before the problem was the playback settings. Now i don't know what to do. As i said; captured footage is clear but timelne is bad. Any ideas. Deadline Tuesday.

I probably won't be able to help, since I don't use FCP, but it would probably help if you could say what the file format is and show a screen shot of the problem.

You are correct sir. My mistake. Cam1 is an XDCAM350. Cam2 is an EX1, each recording to their respective media. Import is to FCP7 timeline because i still prefer it with a timeline set to 1080 16:9 for a 30p and both cameras are shooting to 30p. The two native are of course different frames, one 1270 and the other 1920 but that has always resolved in FCP7 and both are being imported via XDCAM transfer. I can post frame grabs tomorrow if you think that'll help. I've had this issue before and it was an FCP7 setting I missed up but I can't reccall what the solution was. Thanks for your interest.
