Grainy picture normal?

Im using Vegas 9 Pro, and when I am on the capture video part on the programme, I enlarge the video as big as it will go, I notice the whole picture is really grainy, is this normal?

If I make the picture smaller there is much less grain. I dont recall seeing this much grain when played on my tv.

How can I reduce grain?

what format is your source? what kind of TV are your viewing it on?

I shoot in squeeze mode, is this what you asked? And I'm viewing it on a CRT widescreen. I have a 20 inch LCD monitor for my pc which is not HD.

Yeh, I reckon if my video stayed at a youtube video size it would look ok, just any bigger than that it looks bad.
