Gradient Filter?

So whats's the scoop? I am in preproduction of a short that is similar to the BMW films from a few years back. I think using filters with a gradient from top to bottom would really help with shooting outdoors and keeping everthing looking very pro, slick and bad-ass. What are these filters actually called, and what do they go for? Thanks!

They're called "Graduated," filters. There are several different types from "Attenuated," to "hard" and "soft," with various transitions (eg "feathered"). They are different prices depending on if they're circular (and what diameter) or square (for mattebox). Also, what quality and manufacturer. Just call a dealer and find out which is best for you.

**UPDATE FOR THOSE WHO ACTUALLY CARE**

The BMW in question was in an accident this morning. Dang. Looks like it might be a moot point.
