Vegas doesn't utilize video cards.

...and DVI is just the means to connect your card to your monitor using a digital rather than analogue signal...won't help Vegas per se.

so dvi would offer no advantage to the old analog pin head?

It definitely does if you're connecting to an LCD monitor. But in terms of helping Vegas, no.

unless of course u intend on running GPU intensive plugins such as magic bullet 2 or ProDad vitascene

A good card, yes. DVI, not really. It's just a digital connection to a monitor.

All you need is the dual DVI if you want to plug in dual monitors with DVI connections, as stated above.

I find the 7600GT to be the best deal in terms of bang for your buck. It is not a crappy card by any means, and the price is affordable at $100. Lower than that you'll still pay a lot and get much less, then, higher than that you'll need to spend about $200 to get your money's worth again. IMO.

But, all you need is a card with a portion of the performance of the 7600GT to run monitors.
