GPU Acceleration on the Horizon for Sony Vegas Pro?

If they move in line with ATI, that will be the end of Vegas for me. The entire industry is moving toward NVidia and Cuda, and they line up the other way...

Jeez. It's like they TRY to bend you over.

I guess we'll see, but I find it highly unlikely that GPU acceleration will be added to Vegas. Their party line has always been that in order to keep it nimble and to keep it running on as many machines as possible (new or old), they don't want to tie it down to any particular hardware.

Of the many things that have annoyed me about Vegas development since the Sony purchase, that one has always been, in my opinion, a good move. Keeps Vegas very stable and able to be run on pretty much any machine, with few worries about hardware support.

I expect this is pretty much the same kind of thing as last year.
