GPS Units and Maps?

Hey everyone, I got a Magellan Triton 300 for Christmas and it is overall a good unit. But, I want to get some street maps on it so I can use it when I travel. I haven't gotten much luck by calling the company, and there is little information online.

If anyone knows anything about GPS Units (namely mine), how to put detailed maps on it, and where to get said maps (that will work for my unit), please let me know. Thank you!

Sorry man, I'm a Garmin user, those start out with all of America pre-loaded. For foreign travel (like when I went to England), I got the Euro maps on DVD and followed the installation instructions.

It didnt come with maps pre loaded? I got a low end Mio 220 and it came pre loaded with maps and tons of POI's.

All it has is the base map for North America which only includes the major Highways and Freeways. I want to have detailed street information for the States, but can't seem to find it. Thanks for your help so far.

I tried that. They don't have support for my unit on the site yet because it's so new, and when I call I get nowhere. I tried emailing them a day or so ago but I doubt that will help at all, so I thought maybe I would give the Cafe a shot.

I'm a Garmin user and my sister works for TomTom.
I love my Garmin GPSMAP60c for bushwhacking and finding places to film. The TomTom rocks for driving around to destinations. She sent me the Go720 so I can have handsfree cell phone with the TomTom as well.

My wife hated the Garmin for street directions even though I have CityMaps loaded on it but loves the TomTom.

I have a tomtom and I like it better for driving. It's updates very quick once you get off course and generally is spot on.

The Magellan was just too new I think, and I couldn't get street maps. Quickly realizing the reason I wanted a GPS was for in the car, I got the Nuvi. It is great! I have used it quite a few times since Saturday and it is spot on each time, easy to use, and reroutes extremely quickly.

Garmin is also a much better company to deal with as far as customer service goes. I liked the TomTom's as well, but this is just what fit my budget and my needs.
