Gotchya. SUED!

I'll probably get some flak for this, but honestly, I think there's more constructive things they could be doing with their time, energy and money. You know, like making more movies, instead of suing file-sharers who (supposedly) cost the movie industry (supposedly) millions of dollars a year (or is it billions?). Although I suppose file-sharing can destroy the movie industry. Just like the VCR. How much money did Avatar make, by the way? Obviously a lot of people are paying to see movies, and buying DVDs. How much money do the producers of The Hurt Locker honestly think they lost because of file-sharing? Can they actually come up with a solid number they can back up, or is it all speculation?

^^^I see your point(s). I don't think it makes much of a dent in their pocketbooks either.

Besides, who's responsible...the party that posts the file or the party that downloads it?

Duuuuuuudes. I download movies. A LOT of movies actually and I'm trying to get into the business of making them. Thats a bit hypocritical I think. Also, I'm a musician and the last cd I bought was Metallica's new one... before that... couldn't even tell you.

The internet has completely changed the game and I think downloads and file shares ABSOLUTELY suck a lot of the money away from the industry. It's only going to get worse as connection speeds rise and more people learn how to pirate what they want.

I found one of my films available for download off a pay site. I haven't even made a dime off my film and these guys are selling MY MOVIE for download... WTF!!!!

It's a strange new world for entertainment.
