Played with it for an hour or so. So far am very pleased with it. Seems like a good mic for the money. The last shoot i had i was given a mxl 990 but the rode is night and day. Ill still use the 990 for little stuff.

I love mine too but recently got a "dead cat" furry sock to put on it. Should I use it indoors in an interview setting? or is it just helpful outdoors? Will it muffle anything indoors too much?

The furry coverings are mostly built for outdoor wind blocking, but can be used indoors without any problems really. Though if you're serious about outdoor wind rejection, you might also want to consider the Rode Blimp, which would work perfectly for the NTG-2.
