Projects are becoming much more ambitious - time to step it up in the organizational department.

Anyone here use Gorilla, saw it mentioned in an earlier thread. If not Gorilla, what?

Thanks

I use Gorilla 4.0. I've been using it since 2.0 and love it. For the independent filmmaker, it can be a life saver. I just upgraded from 3 to 4 at the beginning of the month and they've really added some great features. I used it on a feature we shot a year ago and it the scheduling module saved our bacon on several occasions. One of my favorite new features is the Rate Book. It contains all the union rates which can then be added directly into the budget. This new feature is an extra $50 for the Full Rate Book (there are several different choices) and it is really worth it!!

Jungle Software

Thanks Blaine!

A lot of positive stuff around this software - as far as interface and usablility goes - I didn't like EP's...are they similar?

Thanks

I haven't used EP so I can't speak to their Budgeting and Scheduling software other than to say the Gorilla Pro is $399...$374 at Amazon...which is about half the price of the full EP package. The interface for Gorilla has continually gotten easier to use. The documentation is good, though, and as long as you've got a project to use, you can learn it quite quickly. Gorilla supports both Final Draft and MM Screenwriter. That is, you can break your script down in either of the screenwriting programs (Tagger for Final Draft) and then import the resulting .sex file. Gorilla then takes all that information and loads it into the breakdown sheets.

I used Gorilla when scheduling a recent feature. Don't know how we would have shot without it. I only had a week with the software prior to preproduction, and I was able to learn it rather easily. I'd agree with Mortimer about the interface and usability.
