Google's Chrome

I downloaded it this morning, i havent really messed with it much but i am skeptical i personally am a big firefox fan so it would have to blow me away to get me to switch.

In my brief time playing with it i do like it better then IE but i think i need more time with it before i decide if i will switch from FF to it full time...

I will say the Omnibar or whatever they are calling it is pretty cool, one box for web browsing or searching google is very nice. And i like the clean slick look of Chrome more then any other browser i have used.

This seems pretty cool, but I wonder how long it will take before the browser is fully supported (rendering sites/playing vids properly) on the web?

I have no interest until there is a GNU/Linux version. And even then, I am a bit skeptical this won't just be a program designed exclusively to push you towards Google's online office programs and other apps. While I like Google as a search engine and web-based mail service, their other offerings leave much to be desired.

I'm kinda digging it. I don't know if I'm going to switch to it full time yet, but it's working really well for me so far.

FF sucks on Mac... it flat out SUCKS on Mac. Hopefully my macbook will finally get an alternative to Safari (which isn't that great, but is at least reliable on Mac).

For PC... so far FF has been pretty hard to beat... I'd have to read some raving reviews to dump FF on PC anytime soon.

I already figured this thing would rely on more memory, the comic actually states that which is very honest of google to explain. Probably won't be anything significant to be honest. Just somethin' else to consider in the grand scheme of the actual computing experience.

Looks pretty cool. And alternatives are always good to have.

But with Google's history of gathering data on users via searches and websites (Google Analytics) this just seems like the ultimate way for them to gather even more data. If you don't like being monitored then I'd avoid this browser like the plague.

Like with stocks (or eggs), it's probably a good idea to keep your technology diversified. Don't place all the power into just one corporation's hands. Google for search, Hotmail for e-mail, Yahoo for news, and Firefox for browsing it all.

Diversify and sassify! :)

I will take a look at it momentarily. I love me some IE7, though...

This obviously translates to "I will forget about this momentarily and end up watching the *****lic** N***on** ***ven**** for hours before taking a shower and finally returning to the computer." I will take a look eventually. :)

I can agree with this somewhat. Google does have a fetish for spying mercilessly on their users. That being said, they only do it with your permission. But I can see the issue in that respect - if you are a porn addict who also enjoys the occasional website about bomb techniques and White House floor plans.

Oh, and I use Isara for search, Google for email, FNC for news and IE7 for browsing it all. So I split it up as well...

Diversify and sassify! :)

Oh shi*! Clearance Carter!
