This sounds like an interesting way to distribute movies throughout the web. You can upload videos of any filesize and charge a price if you want.

That's very cool but I can sense many problems in the near future. My question is, where the hell is google getting all this space? They must have bank. I'm almost positive that people running google are a bunch of drug dealers. :)
 
Seriously! What the hell comes after terabytes??? Because I'm sure they've exceeded that by this point.

(Not saying they're the first, but still.)

"google" was named after a "googol", which is one of the biggest numbers science can think of, basically a 1 followed by a hundred zeroes. So you asked what comes after terabytes -- I'm sure a googolbyte would come way, way after a terabyte!

A googolplex is a googol raised to the power of a googol. It's an utterly useless number for any practical purpose known to man. (As is, well, a googol.)

Except maybe for playground arguments. "No, YOU are, googolplex!"
 
Petabytes = 1,000 Terabytes, or 1,000,000 GB, or 1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes
Exabytes = 1,000 Petabytes, or 1,000,000,000 GB, or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes
Zettabytes = 1,000 Exabytes, or 1,000,000,000,000 GB, or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes
Yottabytes = 1,000 Zettabytes, or 1,000,000,000,000,000 GB, or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 bytes.

It helps that they made BILLIONS on their IPO last year... They've got the ciza$h. The founders alone walked away with about 3 billion each that day.

It's also the name of a movie theater that the Simpsons go to. Aside from the Aztec of course.
 
Video Storage? Crazy, that'll be extremely convenient, but I can't imagine it being totally free and not a subscription service.

That and how will they filter these things? You know that there will be some crazy people uploading their home made "love" movies.
