Does anyone know how I can incorporate google earth in a project edited in FCP? I saw it used on a TV show on A&E the other night which gave me the idea for a project I am working on now. After I downloaded version 5 to my desktop, I noticed I could record from within the application. Not sure if I can save it as a QT file and use in FCP though. If anyone knows that would be great!

You have to buy the Pro version- that lets you output QuickTimes. You can also try a screen recorder app but the results are not as clean.

Hmmm ok. Let me ask this. What is an alternative that can give me similar results? I do not need to broadcast this. I am doing a little video for a friend's birthday. Worse case scenario I could set it up how I want it to look then shoot my screen I guess. That Pro version is like $400 I believe! LOL!
 
Yeah then just use a screen recording utility to capture yourself moving the camera in google earth. Like I said, not the smoothest but it will work.
