Santa brought the kiddos ( 6 and 4) a wii and a stockingfull of games for Christmas...

The only 2 games that keep getting played are the Wii Sports which comes with it and Link's crossbow ($19)

The more expensive games aren't really good/fun.

Does anybody have a good/fun game they can point me to? Either for me or the kids.

Thanks,
Greg

I second that. Very fun stuff. I heard RRR 2 is better though (the one I play).

I'm also playing scarface (not for kids), which is also fun. Lara Croft is pretty good. Stay away from Wii play though. A big waste of time. I didn't like Wario Smooth Moves, and the Olympics one is fun but very challenging.

I'm just renting a bunch of games before buying them

What are the games you have that aren't fun?

actually, if they are 6 and 4, wii play might be perfect (plus it comes with an extra remote). For the younger crowd i would also recommend super paper mario. It's never too early to start them on guitar hero either :)

rayman is the best party game because the pace is pretty fast.

super mario galaxy is way addictive and fun for a one player.

i'm waiting on mario kart - that'll be awesome!

Warrio for when their friends come around (the game is a series of lots of 5 second mini-games and you throw the controller around the room when it calls the player's name)

Super Mario Galaxy for some of the best linear 3D platforming ever

Smash Brothers Brawl looks fantastic and has been historically immaculate

Guitar hero (teaches timing and rhythm, familiarisation with quality music, does not teach guitar skills -- bass is another thing entirely)

Zelda Phantom Hourglass (excellent and dependable story and an in house title polished to a nintendo shine)

I haven't been blown away by many third party Wii games yet. Speaking of which: Avoid Red Steel and Boogie. They're utter crap.

thanks for the info...

games that aren't fun:
ant bully - too hard and confusing for the kids (and me)
legend of the dragon
dance dance revolution - i don't think they are coordinated enough yet - they (and I) keep getting booted off the dance floor

fun for kids:
carnival games - very slow paced, too slow for me but they like it
links crossbow - I think I got it for $19, it comes with a 'crossbow' where you insert the controller and nunchuk. I like it too.

I got guitar hero 3 for Christmas and the 6 yr old would do the frets and the 4 yr old would strum - they loved it and were good at it, but I sold it las weekend and we will wait for rock band for the wii when it comes out.

i have Smash Bros Brawl and it is AMAZING buuut i dunno if its really gonna be the best for kids aged 6 and 4. Maybe aged 10 and 12...

Otherwise mario galaxy would be a good one.

Another vote for Super Mario Galaxy. IMHO, it's the best game Nintendo has ever put out. Zelda: Twilight Princess is pretty strong.

Like many others, I'm eagerly awaiting Mario Kart.

I just played Wii Tennis last night for the first time with my friend's 6 year old. And it was fun man! Way more fun than I expected.

But after hitting a tennis ball around for 2 hours I got a hankering to swing a Wii sword and chop off some virtual heads. Any Wii games rated A for "Adult"?

For adult action, the hands down winner is No More Heroes...check out some reviews for it. I want it, but I'm having a hard time finding it.

btw, I have a dance, dance revolution hottest party to sell...
my kids said, why can't the music be like guitar hero - I think I shed a tear of joy.
