Good Tripod for DVX.

I am looking for a good tripod for a dvx that I will be purchasing in the next few weeks. I was looking at the bogen 503 head. I want a half bowl head though. Is it possible to put a second handle on this head? I really would like a second handle. Almost want one bad enough to step up to the 516. I really dont want to spend over $700 for the head and sticks. I have looked, but can't decide. I really need some input.

I will post the full gear list that I will be buying later.

Thanks guys.

A great head right there. I own one myself and I don't ever regret buying it.

I think you can put one of those bowl adapter attachments that Bogen makes to the 503 and use it with the appropriate set of sticks.

I think so. The 503 has two points where you can attach the handle (for righties and southpaws). I would think that they would sell a standalone handle with the appropriate screw/unit/whatever it's called.

EDIT:

Yup, they do. Go knock yourself out.

Thank you so much. I called myself looking for that handle, but I wasn't real sure if it would fit or not because I have no hands on experience with the bogen heads.

This is the camera package I am looking at getting.

That rebate still comes with the DVX book right?

I will get the 503 head with the extra handle, but I haven't decided on the legs yet. I need to decide if I the half bowl is a necesity or not. It would be nicer, but I could live without it also.

I am talking with a guy thats wanting to sell his DVX100A, but we havent really talked prices yet. I am waiting on some money that I should be getting in a week or so to decide what to do. The 100A is nice, but the 100B is really sweet with the remote focus and iris controls.

He has the 100A, cheap filter kit, and a hard pelican case(I want a soft case, but I could live with the hard case. I want the soft case cause its easier to take to school..and thats what this camera is for.) The camera has 48 hours on the heads. I dont plan on paying more than $1200 for his package. Hes also selling one of those digital behringer mixers. I will probably buy that from him even if I dont buy the camera. I am going to offer like $1800...$2000 max for the camera stuff and the mixer.

Anyways either way I am getting a DVX100. So I am stoked. I just have to get a good head and sticks to go with it and some other small stuff that I need. Its a lot to think about all at once.

Again thanks for the help.
