Got a last minute job capturing a bunch of HD stuff off of digibeta tapes. If I rent a digibeta deck and I'm running Final Cut 5.0.4 do I just hook it up via Firewire and go as normal? Any settings that need to be changed? anything at all? Any tips would be great.

Well it can't be HD if it is on DigiBeta. That is just SD. I don't think there is any DigiBeta decks that have firewire. So you are going to need a capture card. Such as a AJA Kona Card or Black Magic. And then as far as setting it would all depend on what the client wants. If he wants it in a compressed codec or an Uncompressed codec.
 
Thanks for responding. As you can tell I'm new with the HD thing. I've been making documentary stuff on the DVX but was offered a job Capturing a stack of HD tapes, I thought that was digibeta. What kind of tapes do you suppose they are and if I'm using an iMac G5 do you think there's a way for me to capture the stuff?
