Good Shotgun for Indoor Use?

Hi All,

Next month I have to shoot a few days of corporate interviews in noisy offices of various sizes. I would like to use a shotgun mic for the audio so that I have a simple run'n'gun setup. I am hoping for a nice full range sound ( good mid-range ) with a high degree of off-axis noise rejection. The mics I am looking at are:

Sanken CS-1 ( how does this compare to the CS-3e? )
Sanken CS-3e
Sennheiser MKH416
Sennheiser MKH60
Schoeps CMIT 5U

...Any advice ?

:D

the sanken cs1 is not a good not a good mic for the money. Do a search. The sanken cs3e is going to be your best bet. Look at my recent thread about shotguns indoors.

My first thought was probably one of those sawed off ones, a full length one would be hard to maneuver. Also birdshot rather than buck.

On second thought I have heard good things about the CS-3 and indoors. Al the Sen's I've ever used indoors have sounded bad.
