Hi I am looking at getting the Arri Softlight Kit 1 and was wondering if there are any Glass/quality plastic CTB filters for use with the 650's 300, and 1000w lamps. I have used gels in the past but am not a big fan . I would like a filter that I can simply slip into a holder. Any suggestions please?

What you're looking for is Rosco's Permacolor Dichroic Filters which are available in standard and custom sizes up to 13.5" in diameter. Since these filters are designed to be used close to the light source, they are made with glass and dichroic coatings, which withstands the heat but also makes them expensive.
The reason why I prefer to use gels is they are less expensive and more versatile when you consider the many gel colors available. Gels are also lighter to carry than glass filters, and they don't break, and they are easy to charge as expendables to each production.
