Happy to report that footage from an old project shot 24pN works fine in 2.0. This applies to footage edited in 29.97 mode and 24p mode - so you can shoot 24pN and edit it for video or film output!! It's about freaken time. You also have the option to have premiere either remove the pulldown or "untreat" the footage.

For us matrox .x100 users this is no biggy but for everyone else, you dont have to just shoot 24pA

Oh, the matrox Parhelia output driver for PPro & Elements also works with PPro 2 - no updates needed - I tested with a Parhelia AVPe.

That's excellent, soarprod! I agree that it's about time. Not sure why we have to wait for a new release to get some of these things fixed.

Hey, one thing I'd love to know is if batch rendering was restored in 2.0. I'm not hopeful considering that I haven't seen anyone mention it.

Thanks,
Dan

I just started using PPro 1.5 and captured 24p (not 24PA) shot from a DVX 100A using the 24p project seeting in PPro. When I preview the footage in the timeline, it looks jittery. However, when I export the footage to an .avi file, it plays back fine. Is this jittery playback the result of using PPro 1.5? If so, will 2.0 take care of it?

Thanks

yes it will take care of that Joekent.

Tele - I am pretty sure with the adobe bridge software you get batch processing - I believe I saw it there.

I just CC'd a past project that I did in PPro software color correction.
(For this project, I didn't use my matrox .x100. In 1.5, it had better color correction tools than PPro / it was much easier to use).

BOY oh boy - so much easier!! I am ready to order - Color Correction is worth the $200 upgrade alone! It feels a lot like Photoshop Color Correction which is so easy.

Oh, they also integrated unsharp mask as a filter option with really good control - it helps to sharpen footage without the nasty side effects - I use it all the time in Photoshop - sometimes its the simple things that make you happy - hello PPro 2!

Thanks for the info, soarprod. I had overlooked the Bridge stuff thinking it was simply another file manager but I now see the reference to batch processing. Not much detail though. I guess I'll have to check it out when I get my copy.

The new CC facility does look nice. I've gotten used to the CC effect and I think it works pretty well for what I need it to do. When I need a bigger gun, I use the Color Finesse plugin to AE which I like but it's a hassle to switch between aps. I'm glad to see that Color Finesse is still there in AE7.

All in all, I'm glad to hear of these little improvements that don't necessary show up on the new features list. It makes me look forward to exploring the new release for myself.

Thanks,
Dan
