Good mid priced slider? Rhino?

I'm looking to buy a mid priced slider. I was looking at the Rhino 4 foot slider for around $550 but think a little cheaper 3 foot slider would be ideal. I'd be willing to spend closer to $1000 for a slider with a motor to move it but I don't know if they have those for that price yet?

Any good deals under $500 for at least 2.5-3 feet of slider? Anyone having black friday deals i should wait for?

A Dana Dolly universal kit for around $1300 is what I would recommend for a mid priced unit that would hold almost any camera you would care to use. You can use any length speedrail for moves as short or a long as needed. Add a pair of lowboy stands with rollers and you are height adjustable, and highly mobile on set or location. You can even mount a jib like the Porta-Jib on it for compound moves like a Fisher Dolly.

From all the research I've done, the Kessler product seems a great solution (not their very basic slider).

Keep in mind that I'm coming from a stills background but the build quality, motor options (for timelapse and parallax ), ease of use and quick setup time are all appealing positives.

There are many YouTube videos showing these sliders in use and in my mind, the Kessler is by far the best.

David has much much more experience in this field so take that into account.

It comes down to what gear you use and what you want the slider to accomplish.

I looked at the Shark slider; it seems to be copy of the Kessler ( Bloom / Pocket model).

To me, the real advantage of the Kessler is the range of moto options that are offered.

Initially the Kessler is more expensive, but once the motor options are taken into account and the flexibility these bring, then to me at least it seams the best overall product.

i worked with DIY Igus, Kessler Cineslider and Rhino. i recommend none of them, for lightweight work the rhinos or kesslers will do fine, just to get some motion.

The Dana dolly really stands out - built like a tank, handles any payload, super versatile. Not the equipment for travelling and RnG though.

It really depends on your needs, payload, work type - tell us more about that - then we can recommend something more specific.

If I'd buy a slider, I'd go with the Dana.

We are giving away motorised sliders at the moment if they are of any use to you, check out the latest blog on Videvo for more info.

I had the 3' Cinevate Atlas 10 slider for a while (before I upgraded to the Atlas 200) and found it to be terrific. Super smooth moves, compact and easy to travel with. It's not light, but it has the advantage of being built like a tank.

Highly recommended.

Nothing crazy. I just do talking head/patient stories and want to add a little movement to the b-roll shots. Probably use for some simple short films as well. So nothing like a full dolly needed, I will probably travel with it a bit.
